On November 4, 2019, the City of Ann Arbor passed a resolution which formally declared a “climate emergency,” and set 2030 as an “ambitious and achievable” carbon neutrality target. Our goal is to work towards that target by practicing, involving, and educating as many communities as possible.

Jan Culbertson runs the Ann Arbor 2030 District, coaching commercial, non-profit, and multifamily property owners & managers to accelerate their progress to net zero.  She is a wealth of knowledge on the impact of building decisions on their carbon footprint.

John Mirsky chairs the City of Ann Arbor’s Energy Commission. He has devoted his retirement to climate action.  He will speak about his family’s process of making their home net zero.

Swami Shantamrita is a monk and C20 delegate. He was based in Tokyo for ten years. Now based in Chicago, he conducts regular spiritual and social service programs. Swami is a graduate of Amherst College with a degree in Asian Studies.

Prasad Gullapalli is the CEO of Srinergy, a global solar energy development company with design and development capabilities, providing turn-key smart solar energy solutions for commercial, industrial, and residential customers.

Jason Duvall Ph.D. teaches multiple courses on sustainability and behavior change and is broadly interested in understanding how environments impact people's ability to function effectively and influence pro-environmental behavior.

Dave Strenski is the founder of SolarYpsi, a group of volunteers educating, designing, and installing solar power in the Ypsilanti area. Ypsi has gone from zero to 1.5MW of solar power making the community one of the early leaders in installed capacity, well prior to the availability of public and private incentives.
